I have this set of 2 candle holders in the shape of an owl. One has not been used much and you can see the vintage olive color that was so popular in the 70s. Around the eyes and the base have cornflower blue. The belly is a brighter pea green. The other one is heavily used with black around the top. The colors may be the same if the black was removed. But the black doesn't come off on my fingers.
The eyes have holes so light can shine through them.
These owls were not high end and are showing age. There are a couple chips and cracks. The clean owl has a glue like substance that was used to stop a crack from running. The darker one has crack lines on both sides. There is a small chip out of one side but I do have the piece and it could be repaired. When looking front on the owls look ok.the sides of the owls stand 3 3/8 inches tall. At the front is about 3 1/4 inches tall. The owls are about 3 inches across at the fattest part.
The clean owl has a candle in it that was burnt briefly. The wax is dusty. The dark owl has a very small amount of candle in the bottom. As I recall this type of item came with a candle already inside. But a votive would fit through the 2 inch opening.I would think these owls would be better shelf items for a new owl collector. I don't know how well they would do as candle holders.I am selling these AS IS
